ACADEMIES
Linked Learning Following the National Academy Foundation (NAF) Model
In our Linked Learning Career Pathways program, our students receive career-themed college preparation in small learning communities. We blend academic rigor with fundamentals, projects, presentations, and hands-on experiences. TJUHSD will take steps to ensure that a lack of English will not be a barrier to admission and participation in district programs.
Currently our students enjoy the following Linked Learning Career Pathways programs:
- Academy of Engineering (AOE) - Mission Oak High School
- Pre-Med Academy (PMA) - Tulare Western High School
- Art Media & Entertainment (AME) - Tulare Union High School
- Protective Services and Law (PSL) - Mission Oak High School
- Academy of Marketing (TAM) - Tulare Union High School

Additional Information on NAF
NAF academies are structured as focused learning communities that fit within and enhance high school systems and guide students in their learning via a career theme. As part of the NAF academy experience, students are involved in “Work-Based Learning Experiences” such as guest speakers, job shadows, mock interviews, and internships. NAF promotes open enrollment for its academies in order to maximize every student’s chance at a successful future. The flexible structure encourages teacher collaboration across subject areas and fosters personalization to meet student, school, district, and state needs and goals.
